Communications Manager
Reports To: Rector
Salary Exempt, Full-Time
SUMMARY: The Communications Manager will help to extend the warm and approachable culture of Cornerstone to people who hunger for ancient wisdom, are burnt out on church-as-production, and desire to build a network of friendships under the lordship of Christ. They will do this by developing a strategy to leverage our various communications channels in a manner consistent with the non-flashy, reflective and personable style of the congregation.
OUR CHURCH IN THIS MOMENT: Cornerstone recently purchased two facilities and has relocated to one while doing major renovations on the other. We are averaging over 800 in weekly worship and are preparing to enter a new season of multi-parish ministry in the next year. We are also in year one of a three year capital campaign. We are striving to remain a “human-scale” church, while also managing significant growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all parts of Cornerstone’s communications infrastructure, including website, email newsletters, social media and print pieces.
Develop the style guide to ensure consistency across print and digital platforms.
Work with Rector to define and protect Cornerstone’s “voice” in communication.
Create orderly infrastructure for staff to request stage or email announcements, and the creation of print or digital products.
Oversee and disseminate communications calendar
Work with contractors such as graphic designers, videographers and photographers to create visual content
Oversee and participate in writing copy for all church digital and print
Maintain Cornerstone Church Website
Manage social media calendar and schedules
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of communications experience
Positive, proactive and non-anxious presence
Must be a self starter and problem-solver
Gifts of Leadership and Creative Communication
Proficient in computer applications and media equipment
Organized and efficient at working on a variety of tasks alongside staff and volunteers
Theological and missional alignment with Cornerstone’s values and mission as outlined on our website (explore the ‘About’ tab).
Readiness to become part of the Cornerstone community as expressed through weekly worship and openness to church membership.
